Show your photographer who agreed to be pictured

Show your photographer which of the guests do not like to be pictured.

Suppose you throw in a little afterwork party, organize a company event, or inform clients in a seminar. Of course you want pictures! That is part of marketing, isn’t it. You want to use them on a blog post. Share them with the participants. Show off to journalists that you get famous guests. Put them on a facebook page for future reference.

Well, eh. You might not want to do that without asking permission nowadays. More and more people are really annoyed about the un-confirmed publishing of pictures. It’s not good marketing practice any longer to just move forward and publish-as-you-please. But then, you do not want to check all the pictures or the video real after the event, and make an inventory of all the permissions you need.

Here is your solution.

  • Inform the guest in one of the final confirmation mails that pictures are going to be taken. Yes, you can use the same e-mail as the one in which you ask for their diet preferences. Just put another check box on the form “I do not mind that I figure on pictures of the event” – yes/no.
  • One colored dot sticker on the badge of the guests will show the photographer “red = leave alone” and “green = go ahead”. And afterwards it will be very clear to the marketeers which of the guests you have to crop from the picture, or photoshop to the moon

So remember

  • Ask permission to take pictures on every event.
  • Inform the guests on beforehand whether they mind.
  • Put a color sticker on the badge to sort the yes’es from the no’s.
